This Ol' House Thursday...Hasta la Vista Pink Tile Bathroom! Before & During Pictures...

This ol house...is gettin' some LOVE!

But, it is definitely not happening over night.
Patience. Julie. Patience.

Here is what my laundry/craft room is starting to look like.
Yeah, I know...I am getting ancy.
While our contractor is working hard...I thought I could squeeze in my bathroom
mini-makeover while he finishes.

So...I have been doing my online research about painting ceramic tiles.
I bought a kit last Sunday, intending to come home and get started that afternoon during nap time.
Well...no nap time here...it was "mom will clean up every one's flu mess" time!
Then...I got it...I was down for the count on Monday!

But, Tuesday...I was a whole new woman and ready to go!

WARNING!!
{These are not the best quality (at all) pictures, taken late at night while I was working.}

I bought a Rustoleum Tile Transformation kit at Home Depot for $99.00
BEST remodel I have ever done for $99...BY FAR!!!

This is just a sneak peek of the Before & During photos...I still have to paint the cabinets and wall and bring in all the fun decor stuff for our girls!

Safety goggles from my husband's spray rig...and a cool mask.  C'mon...safety is in!!

I was SO anxious to get going on this...I still have on my swimming suit and cover up from the afternoon with our girls.
I put a long sleeved shirt on later...just in case I dripped something on my arms (not really knowing how harmful anything might be.)
I read all the reviews (I will give some links on some fabulous reviews next week in my full post.)

That is the tub and shower you can see behind me...yep, ALL Pink!!

Pink up the walls...

Pink and maroon counter tops...so sweet, but...just done with the pink!

There is the kit...best $99 I have spent yet!
(Cup of courage to the left...just kidding...it's tea!)

All of the reviews I read clearly stated
CLEANING WAS VERY IMPORTANT IN THE PREP WORK!!
I really made sure I cleaned with the cleanser and scrubby pad provided, rinsed and dried it WELL.

After rinsing, I would say I let the tile dry for a couple of hours or longer.
Long enough to swim with the girls after they woke up from naps...dinner and bath time for them.

After I got them in bed...I opened both windows for a good breeze and ventilation.
I got right to it...rolling the base coat on.
(I will have a more detailed description...once the bathroom is totally finished.)

I never imagined it would work this well...or, be this easy.
I am super excited to finish everything up these next few days and see it all come together.

Not even done...and a million times BETTER!!!!

So clean looking...just gotta finish painting the cabinets and walls.
I really need new towels, bath mats and fun stuff for the girls!

I will finish up and have the "Happily Ever After" pictures for you soon!

I hope you have a great day!

Love & Junk~
Julie

  1. It looks so much better! You must be so happy. My bathroom has mustard yellow tiles from ceiling to floor and a mustard yellow tub, so I feel your pain!

  3. Hi Julie, I love it! Pink and maroon? Good grief. Do you think I could do the tiles on my bathroom floor? It is a small bathroom.
