Transformation Tuesday...Sweet Sideboard

I can not simply jump into my furniture transformation tonight.  Our family is praying for the families in Oklahoma...my heart hurts for them.  I can't imagine their loss...
My babies are safe in their bed and I can't imagine the pain those moms are feeling tonight...
praying for them!

Now...
another piece I am in LOVE with...

Photo: Happily Ever After!!

Yep, you guessed it....
another YARD SALE find!
What a FIND she was...EXCELLENT condition, original hardware and very sturdy!
Not to mention, she is the PERFECT size for a home without a huge dining area...hmmm, my home???

Photo

My pictures are not the best (not even close) but, they are all I have and I am making them work!

After unloading her, I quickly removed the hardware and gave a light scuff with a sanding block...
nothing to serious...just enough to get some of the shine off.

Photo

I slopped (yes, you read that right) a quick coat of white primer.
This is not necessary on all projects (the light sanding was a good prep) I really just wanted the white to show through my distressing later.

Photo

Oh!  These pictures are HORRIBLE!!!
Next:  I gave a quick coat of Behr paint in Ashes...a nice grey...

Photo

Then I added a coat of Behr in Atmospheric...a really pretty powdery grey-blue-ish...
I wanted lots of layers and colors to come through when I scuffed the edges, and
that is what I got!  Chippy, peely...cool!

I am LOVING the scroll work in the front of these cabinet doors...

Once I got her inside...you can really see the blue in this paint.  So pretty!

Photo

LOVE her legs!!!

Photo

Original hardware...in perfect condition!

Photo

There is some of that white coming through...just scuff and sand...you really can't mess it up!

This sweet piece is headed to Clovis Glorious Junk Days with me on Sunday, May 26th.
Come and see me if you are local...or close to Clovis, CA!!!

I hope you are having a fabulous week...remember to pray for Oklahoma!!

Love & Junk,

Julie
