This Ol' House Thursday...Room Redo (AGAIN!)

So you know I LOVE change.

Maybe too much change? My husband LOVES it too...um...not so much!

I am working on our bedroom yet, once again. It really wasn't terrible to start with...

(You can see where I started to paint the armoir turquoise and then realized I wanted a before shot.)

These pictures were taken...oh, I would say...last summer??? Maybe August of 2012??

Black and white...kind of done with that.

This paint job is what started the whole room ~~mess~~ makeover.

Our bedding didn't match (you know my husband pointed that out of course...kidding!)

So, it evolved into this...my turquoise/cowgirl/hippie kind of room.

I picked out the darkest, deepest chocolate-y grey color for the walls, traded a friend a furniture piece I had for her Pottery Barn bedding (hardly used) and some yard sale finds.

So...what am I up to now with this room...well, here is a little teaser

My armoir is now a creamy white (I really can't help myself with paint and a brush)...with the turquoise and black peeking through.

I LOVE it!

I need to FINISH it...today! (Hopefully) I hope to have some after pictures for you next week.

The white bedding is in the washer...I am trying to figure out what color of pillow covers I want to sew to toss on our bed (my husband LOVES the millions of pillows on the bed..haha.)

Dairy Wife Wednesday...Berry & Banana Pancake Bites with CA Milk Advisory Board & Tidy Mom

We all have BUSY mornings...some busier than others. In our house, we have preschool mornings, gymnastics mornings...and just "get-stuff-done-around-the-house-mornings."

But....there is always time for a delicious, healthy and fun breakfast.

These Berry & Banana Pancake Bites fit the bill for all three of those!

Mix it all up in my custom-painted cow mixer!
(A wedding shower gift from my mom and dad...painted by my dad.)

"Easy"...translated..."not too messy" to grab and go...

Or even better to sit down and enjoy with the warm maple butter syrup.
Don't forget a big glass of ice cold REAL CA Milk!

Berry & Banana Pancake Bites

Source: adapted from The World According to Eggface

Ingredients:
2 cups Bisquick Pancake & Baking Mix
1 1/3 cups skim milk
2 tbsp sour cream2 large ripe banana, chopped into small pieces
1 cup fresh berries...we used strawberries and blueberries½ cup maple syrup
1 tbsp REAL CA Butter

Directions:
1.    Pre-heat the oven to 350. Lightly mist a 24 count mini muffin tin with cooking spray.
2.    In a large bowl, stir together Bisquick mix, milk and sour cream until thoroughly combined.
3.    Divide the batter evenly among the prepared mini muffin tin cups. Sprinkle the chopped banana pieces, strawberries and blueberries over the tops of each muffin cup. Bake in the oven for 12-14 minutes until golden and cooked through.
4. Melt 1 tbsp REAL CA butter with 1/2 cup of maple syrup a microwave safe bowl (my mom ALWAYS did this!)
Yields 24 pancake bites.

Transformation Tuesday...Drop Leaf Table Saved from the Burn Pile

I normally do not keep everything...really, I don't. My husband is pretty good about reminding me that I don't need to keep everything. Some things you just can't let go!

I have been wanting to find a different dining set for a while now. I love the farmhouse style of a wood top with a creamy white bottom. It has taken years...but, I finally stumbled on the right one.

The sunlight from our sliding glass door is perfect lighting for brightening

up this little corner of our living room. Yep, you read that right...our dining table is in the

back corner of our living room. This farmhouse doesn't have a formal dining room...

no problem for me...I made one!

LOVE her legs...

This was another yard sale find...hidden deep in the backyard. Though, they had really nice woodworking tools and my husband found some things he needed for his shop...I was coming up empty. Until...the homeowner said "Well, you may like this table in the backyard."

Yes, yes I DO like this table!
