I am loving this sweet little nightstand I found Saturday...at the last yard sale I hit in town!

She is just so cute...wasn't always this cute!

Just your plain ol' brown...with the cutest little curves and original hardware!
I had to take her home...

and paint her with one of my new favorite paints!!
This is a Martha Stewart color called "Bougainvillea."
I LOVE it!

  1. ok I have furniture that looks like that. Do you need to put a primer on first?

    1. Hi LuAnn...you can use a primer...or you can just clean it well and use the chalk paint recipe I use (link in the post.)

One advantage of using chalk paint is that it will adhere to most all surfaces...and this shiny wood works perfectly if cleaned with vinegar or TSP before painting.

Let me know if you have any questions!

    1. Neither a dark wax or stain...I went over this with Minwax Polycrylic (my favorite!)

I just cleaned it, painted with my chalk paint (recipe in post) distressed it and then wiped it downa gain and cleared it by brushing on the clear coat.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  6. It amazes me how paint can totally revitalize pieces of furniture that saw their best days long ago.

    And, anything RED is perfect.
